3 to 4 year old children (Pre-School)
Pre-School have the two ground floor rooms in the School building dedicated to meeting their needs.
Our Squirrel room is spacious giving the opportunity to be surrounded by stimulating resources and activities promoting the learning and development of this age group.
Planning incorporates the seven areas of learning, recognised in the government’s Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS): With the areas being:
- Communication and Language (CL)
- Physical Development (PD)
- Personal, social and emotional development (PSED)
- Literacy (L)
- Mathematics (M)
- Understanding the world (UTW)
- Expressive arts and design (EAD)
Willow room is set up to cater for the needs of our older Pre School children. This well-resourced room is set up with the next stage of development in mind. The room has an interactive whiteboard and easy access to the large and stimulating outdoor space.
In The Moment Planning is used throughout the setting and this continues through the Pre School, supported by learning activities for phonics, Literacy and Numeracy. Observations and learning journeys are shared digitally with parents using Tapestry. Children are prepared for the next step of their education (School) as our practitioners work with other settings, parents and agencies to create transition plans.
