  1. Keeping cool

In this heatwave we have been finding new ways to keep cool, from exploring frozen dinosaur eggs to splashing in paddling pools. Children have also been keeping our plants hydrated too!

  2. The life cycle of a butterfly

This week in nursery we have had some very special visitors! The children have enjoyed exploring the life cycle of a butterfly through watching our very own caterpillars transform into butterflies before releasing them in the nursery garden on Friday. Here are some examples of how each room has explored the life cycle in creative ways.

  3. Writing names

Children in Rabbit room have been learning to recognise, read and write their names. They have been writing their name in paint, hunting for letters in the sensory tray, shaking glitter over glue pictures to reveal their name and singing songs to help them remember the letters.

  4. Easter fun

In the lead up to Easter, the children have taken part in a range of Easter themed activities. Babies have been making collages with feathers, toddlers have been finger painting bunnies and preschool children have been rolling eggs in paint to create different prints and colours. All children have then taken part in Easter egg hunts in the garden with their keyworker- although the weather was wet this didn’t dampen any spirits as children pulled on their wellies and eagerly hunted for eggs.

  5. Mother’s Day Afternoon Tea

This afternoon we celebrated Mother’s Day by throwing an afternoon tea and inviting the special women in our children’s lives to join us. Rabbit room were helped by a very creative member of staff to make all the decorations for the event. Relatives then spent the afternoon completing activities with the children and enjoying some cakes.

  6. World Book Day 2018

Lots of our children have made a fantastic effort this World Book Day! We have enjoyed talking about who everyone has dressed up as and reading the different stories.
